My First Branding Project

I've been an active member of various design teams within IEEE, and I've even had the opportunity to lead a few of these teams. One event that stood out to me was KHM. It had so much potential but lacked emotion, meaningful representation, and a cohesive color palette.

Revamping it became my mission. I had to brainstorm ideas for a new logo, define the brand's vibe and colors, all while juggling additional responsibilities as a Program Coordinator.

I delved into extensive research, tirelessly worked through numerous design iterations, sought feedback continuously, and more. Eventually, it hit me! I wanted to infuse a festive spirit into IEEE Kochi Hub Meet since it's an annual gathering, almost like a festival for IEEE students in and around Kochi.

The breakthrough came with the logo—combining a symbolic type and an emblem. The emblem illustrates five elements shaped like an umbrella. Each element represents the five zones within Kochi Hub, while the umbrella symbolizes bringing all students together under one roof. It was an exhilarating journey bringing this vision to life!

I received an overwhelming amount of appreciation from students, team members, mentors, teachers, and even the speakers involved in the event. It was heartening to see such positive feedback. What made it even more special was when one of the speakers expressed a particular fondness for the design. They liked it so much that they referred me for some freelance projects, which was an unexpected yet delightful outcome of the effort I put into the KHM event.
